Amy’s Review of ‘The Horse Boy’

December 16, 2009

Hi friends!

Jenn and I, along with some FRH friends and family, went down to Denver to the movie Premier of ‘The Horse Boy’.  I was able to speak to introduce the film, talked a bit about our program and facility, and encouraged the audience to allow the spirit of the film to move them toward donating time or financial resources to similar programs in the Denver Metro area.

The movie was inspiring, as was Rupert Isaacson’s book. It did a great job of conveying the issues that parents of autistic children deal with. It spoke to the power of faith and spirituality.  It revealed a family that was very typical…not perfect, not made-up, house and clothes often disheveled, relationships challenged, disagreements between spouses/family.  It was sweet to see the love in their family carry them beyond all the daily “stuff” on an adventure that helped them to help their son.

We’re working daily to find a local venue with a good date…preferably the weekend…to show this film to our friends and supporters.  Please stay tuned!  Read the book.  Become involved.  Call us if you have ideas of a place to show this film.

At this time of year, please know that we hold you in our thoughts, and are constantly grateful for your presence in our lives.

Happy Holidays,

Amy & Jenn
